With a combination of basic fitness and Taekwondo techniques,
students can get a full on Martial Art experience.

MSA Ski Trip

The GTA MSAs would like to invite you to our annual ski trip. Here’s your chance to de-stress and experience the real Canadian winter with all your dearest friends.

Join us on the slopes of the beautiful Blue Mountain Ski Resort on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 for a day of skiing or snowboarding- your choice! We shall be leaving from Hart House at 8 AM.

Tickets are $55 for skiing and $60 for snowboarding. Hurry and get your tickets ASAP before they are all sold out.

Tickets will be sold at the following times/locations:
– After every Jummah (At 1 and 2 pm)
– During office hours- Monday and Wednesday 12-2, Thursday 1-2 pm

Charity Talent Show

The Orphan Sponsorship Program, Muslim Students’ Association @ U of T will be hosting our first ladies only event of the year; a Charity Talent and Fashion Show. The talent show will also include an exceptional variation of talents comprising of singing, dancing, spoken word, tae kwon do demonstrations, skits, and more! At the end of the night there will be a ballot to vote for the best talent, and the winning talent will receive a prize!

Tickets can be bought before the event for $10 or for $15 at the door (More Information TBA). All proceeds from this event go towards the 130 orphans that we sponsor yearly from around the world in respect to education, health, food, shelter and other basic necessities. Food and drinks will be included.

Identity is a two day conference that aims to enlighten our hearts and minds about the life of the last and final messenger, Muhammed (SAW). The theme of the conference is identity and is about reaffirming our own identity by getting to know and loving the Prophet SAW. It is brought to you by UTSC MSA in partnership with UofT MSA and Islamic Foundation Toronto!

Come and listen to three great speakers Imam Tahir Anwar, Dr. Munir El Kasaem, and Shaykh Yusuf Badat. This is a FREE event and FREE meals will be provided on both days of the conference. The conference will be held on January 27th to 28th 2012 at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Seats are limited; please sign up as soon as possible!

Imam Tahir Anwar is an American Muslim Imam (religious leader) who has been around Imams since the day he was born. Namely his father and grandfather (his first teachers), and his two brothers, who are also both Imams in California. Upon completing his religious studies in India, he has been serving as the Imam of one of the oldest masjids in the country, the Islamic Center of San Jose, since 2001. He is also the head of theIslamic Studies Department, and a teacher at Granada Islamic School in nearby Santa Clara, an institution in its 26th year. These days, he travels around the globe to deliver the message of Islam to the masses, and currently resides in San Jose, California with his wife and two sons. -http://www.imamtahir.com/

Dr. Munir El-Kassem is the founder and current President of the Islamic Institute for Faith and Dialogue He was born in Beirut Lebanon in 1955. After spending 15 years in general practice, he joined the University of Western Ontario as an assistant professor at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. El-Kassem is very actively involved in Islamic Da’wa. He is the author of many Islamic books and has written on a wide variety of Islamic issues in various publications throughout the world. – http://www.iiid.ca/

Shaykh Yusuf Badat is the main Imam and ‘Director of Religious Affairs’ at the Islamic Foundation of Toronto. Shaykh Yusuf Badat also serves as a teacher for Arabic, Islamic Studies, Quranic Studies and World Religions at the Islamic Foundation School.
