MSA – EngSoc Collaboration
Are you an undergraduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering?
This initiative has been started with you in mind. The Muslims Students’ Association is encouraging its members in the undergraduate engineering program to sign up on an MSA Engineers List. You can sign-up on the list here:
The list has also been made available in print at the voting booths during the MSA elections period. If you would like to know more about our reasons for collecting these signatures, read on …
The Muslim Student’s Association at the University of Toronto is planning to become affiliated with the Engineering Society. The Engineering Society is a big group that represents the needs of undergraduate engineers. MSA membership consists of a large number of engineers and hence we want our members to have better access to the services provided by the Engineering Society. There are several other benefits to getting affiliated with the Engineering Society: more interaction with other campus clubs, wider recognition of the MSA, more logistical and financial support, more diversity within EngSoc, better representation of the needs of Muslim engineers, etc.
The Engineering Society has shown a willingness to work with the MSA to address the social and religious needs of Muslim engineers. While it may take some time for all the needs to get addressed, nevertheless, we think it’s a positive start. Both groups, the MSA and the Engineering Society, have a lot to benefit from by working with each other. We hope you will endorse this proposal. If you have any questions or concerns, please
